This annual State of the Forest Carbon Finance report tracks, reports and analyses trends in data about projects and transactions in forest carbon markets. As readiness finance dwindles, both donor and recipient countries are navigating towards financial mechanisms that put a value on the billions of tonnes of carbon stored in the world’s remaining forests. By looking at readiness finance and results-based payments together, the report reveals the considerable momentum that both preparation for and implementation of forest carbon finance has gained over the past decade. It also exposes the considerable remaining barriers to reaching a scale of public and private sector finance that keeps forests standing for centuries to come.

Financing Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation in the Agriculture and Forestry Sectors

This document refers to the Declaration adopted by the High-Level Conference on World Food Security: the Challenges of Climate Change and Bioenergy (HLC), particularly paragraph 7b, which states: “We support the establishment of agriculture systems and sustainable forest management practices that positively contribute to the mitigation of climate change and ecological balance.”

The documents seeks to make intergovernmental work on these available to actors around the world, and covers issues concerning financing of climate change adaptation and mitigation in the agriculture and forestry sectors.
